It is with great difficulty that we are announcing that our 2019 Epilepsy event on the 23rd will be our last event together after the event has finished WTLVTC will be closed for business. It hasn’t been an easy decision for either us to make but all good things must come to an end and after 4 and a half years of being open we’ve had to make the decision to close the VTC. Why? There are many different reasons as to why we’ve made the decision with the biggest being both of our personal lives and changes which are upcoming in the near future which are going to limit our time even further from what is now to hardly any. Both myself and Senka are taking on massive workloads with our jobs in the next 6 months and we really aren’t going to have the time to keep the ship sailing in the direction that we would really want and both think it’s the best time to end things on a high note.
Back in August 2014 The VTC was founded by Crumbs as part of EuroTruck Radio and since then has gone from strength to strength and we’ve ended up where we are today in a position of complete self sufficiency with a management team that are more like a family and do us proud with every project and event that they undertake.
From our very first convoy from Dover to Scotland to where we are now there’s been a few changes and with that have come many big milestones… We hosted the first Truckfest, some of the biggest truckfests and convoys the community has seen, crashed servers, jammed up europort more times than I can remember, hosted the first and only 100hour+ convoy, raised over £4000 Pounds for various charities and have enjoyed every minute of it.
We would both like to thank the truck sim community for being the home of our own adventure over the last 4 years and hope that it will continue to make a place for people to come together and do the thing they love doing most as well as it has for us.
We hope that we will see as many of you as possible at our Epilepsy event next weekend where we can have a proper send off and really leave things on a high note! The details for the event can be found Here.
Senka’s Personal Statement:
Hey, all WTL members I want to share some words with everyone which is very important. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of you being a part of the VTC family and no matter how big or small a role you have played here, you are all a cog in a machine and without you we wouldn’t have been able to function correctly. What I am trying to say is everyone is important to me in this VTC and with over 82 members in this VTC I wish I could personally thank you all individually for being a part of this family and making me a very very proud VTC Owner.
I know there is several individuals which without a shadow of a doubt need a mention because of their support, dedication, time and sacrifices they have made to help this VTC throughout the years. YamYam, DannyB, BigDave, DubStepMad, GoodGuy1515, Trappy97, Michael Jacks, BigMac, SammyBoy and so many more! Please don’t feel left out if I haven’t mentioned you because there is so much more, I could write more but there’s only so much I can fit into this brief message.
This is a very emotional time and I’ll be honest this is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. Something I have put so much time and effort into and now the curtains are coming to a close it feels like a bad nightmare. I understand some of you may not like this decision however please please understand that this isn’t a light decision. But help us make Epilepsy our grand final farewell and make our final contribution to the charity a good one.
